A place for those of us who are helping take care of a loved one who might or might not need a nursing home, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehab center, retirement community, resort, or some other living space besides their current one. As caregivers lets support each other and not reinvent the wheel!

The Road Less Traveled
What of the OCS Caregiver. For those of you who are not aware, the OCS stands for "ONLY CHILD SYNDROME". This is the caregiver of parents who has no brother or sister to call or reach out for help. In the spring of this year, I traveled back to Colorado to visit my parents and noticed they could use my help with things around the house. It was snowing heavily, and I found that some chores were better suited to people that were under 65 years old. As an only child, living in California, I often think about what mom may need one day. For those of you with siblings, be thankful. I am sure it may not be easy, but statistics say that caregiving often falls on the oldest female sibling. What do you think?
